CANDLE CARE
The first time you light your candle you must give your candle enough burning time to develop a melt pool that spreads all the way to the edge of the container. This may take a few hours depending on the size of the candle. Please don't burn any of your candles for longer than 4 hours at a time. After you've established a good consistent melt pool you won't have to burn your candle to the edge every time you light it.
ALWAYS TRIM YOUR WICK.
Like a cotton wick, you want to trim your wooden wick before every burn. While the advised height for cotton wicks is ¼”, wooden wicks only need to be at 1/8″ – 3/16″.
The shorter height allows the wax to capillary up the wick to feed the flame properly. Test burns have already been conducted to determine the proper width and thickness of the wooden wick included in your Effusio.co candles so all you must do is keep that trimming maintenance up!
HOW TO TRIM A WOODEN WICK
I would personally recommend a pair of wick trimmers!
If you don’t have a wick trimmer, you can easily break off the ashy part of the wooden wick with another tool. Do not attempt to trim your wick if the wick or wax is still hot.
You want to wait for your candle to be cool before trimming the wick for safety reasons as well as easy maintenance if any debris falls off while trimming.
It's normal for there to be a small amount of wax left in the bottom of the candle. Your candle is finished when the wick clip is visible beneath the wax. It’s normal to have up to ½” of wax leftover.
CANDLE BURNING DON’TS
Don’t leave unattended
Don’t play with the wax or try to move the wax around the jar. This will make the wax uneven and promote uneven burning.
Don’t burn for more than 4 hours. Your wick can create a large and unstable flame.
Don’t forget to trim that wick! Untrimmed wicks lead to popping, smoking, and soot. This is how candles end up looking dirty and full of debris.
Don’t fall asleep with your candle burning.
Effusio.co is not responsible for poorly burned candles. Please burn your candles on a flat heat resistant surface away from drafts, pets, & children. Never leave your candle unattended.
ROOM SPRAY CARE
DIRECTIONS
Shake before each use.
Spray around the room as often as needed to freshen up any space. Do not spray directly onto skin, clothes, or pets. Avoid contact with eyes.
REED DIFFUSER CARE
A perfect way to freshen up a living area without the need for flame from a candle or electricity. The reeds continuously release a clean, pure fragrance throughout your living space. Simply turn the reeds over once a week to recharge and release a new wave of scent.
Our diffusers are all hand-poured. There are several factors that will affect how long your reed diffuser will last and the amount of fragrance it releases. These include:
Number of reeds used
The airflow around your diffuser (if close to a fan, air conditioning or an open window the reeds will soak up the oil faster).
DIRECTIONS
Place the reed sticks in the oil and allow them to sit for one hour. By the end of the hour, you should start to notice the sticks slowly absorbing the oil. Flip the reeds over to saturate the top part of the reeds that stick out above oil level. This helps to speed up the process of the oil soaking up from the bottom diffusing through the entire reed.
Place your reed diffuser somewhere suitable in your home. Place it where it won’t be knocked or investigated by curious children or pets. Be sure to keep it well away from electrical appliances too, in case of a spill. Expect a light fragrance to start perfuming your room within 24 hours.
WARNING
Do not light the diffuser reeds.
Ensure your reed diffuser is placed out of reach of children and pets in an area where it will not be easily knocked over. If spilt, the mixture may stain surfaces.
